In his long-awaited return to the Red Sox lineup, Roman Anthony has offered two very different glimpses.
In his first five games, he launched line-to-line rockets while going 10 for 22, five of those hits for extra bases, with a .455/.500/.909 slash line.
Over the next 11 games — including Wednesday’s 7-3 loss at the Rangers when he went 0 for 3 with a walk and a strikeout — he’s hit .149/.216/.213 with 18 strikeouts in 51 plate appearances (35 percent strikeout rate).
So how does the 22-year-old view his performance?
“I’m right where I want to be,” said Anthony.
