250 commemorations continue into the fall

We're still commemorating America@250 here at the By the People crowdsourced transcription program! There are over 17,000 pages still in need of both transcribers and reviewers - dive into the American Revolution In Context transcription campaigns to join the celebrations.

Last year, we were excited to announce that By the People was selected as a community engagement project for THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, the six-part documentary series from Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt. We're sharing another opportunity from WETA to apply for support to create programming that is meaningful to your local community (below, and please note the 9/22 deadline):

Keep the conversation going: American Revolution library grants

The 250th anniversary may have passed, but the conversation about the American Revolution and its meaning today continues. Public, academic, and specialty libraries can apply for a $750 grant from WETA to support community programming inspired by THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, the six-part documentary series from Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt. If your library is already planning a The American Revolution In Context event between now through January 25, 2027, this is a great way to get funding to enhance your programming!
