Message from the Principal:
Greetings Keene Mill Families,
The second week of school has been fantastic! Students (and staff) are settling into routines and digging into learning. It is a joy to see so many smiling faces each day.
Some students may come home and share every detail of their school day. Others may offer more limited responses. Here are some questions that you might ask to learn a little more about their day:
- What made you smile today?
- What’s something new that you got to learn today?
- Who did you get to play with today?
- Who’s someone that you helped today?
- What are you most proud of today?
- What’s something that felt tricky today?
- What’s something that you’re looking forward to getting to do again tomorrow?
- When were you feeling happiest today?
- What’s a glow and a grow from your day?
Have a wonderful weekend!

Student ID Cards for Keene Mill
Bus Riders
Thursday we began distributing student ID cards to our students. ID cards should be worn or attached to your child’s backpack and brought to the bus each day.
We ask for your patience.
Bus drivers will begin checking in students next week and may need some extra time at each bus stop while they do this. Students should begin tapping as they board and exit the bus. The FCPS transportation team is working hard to minimize any potential delays.
Learn more about the bus navigation and student ID cards.
School-Issued Devices
Dear Keene Mill Families,
We're writing to share an important update about your child's school-issued device. Students are NOT required to take their devices home. If you wish for your student to use their device only while at school, you do not need to complete and return a device agreement form.
If you DO want your student to take their device home you must complete and return a signed Keene Mill Student Device Agreement. Please find more information here.
