Eating more calories could help you lose more fat.

Not because mEtAbOLiSm. That's dumb. But so is setting your calories too low.

Do that, and you'll end up losing the same 15 pounds every year.

Yesterday, a guy told me that he's eating 1600 calories per day and not losing weight. This is a 240 pound man we're talking about here. That's the same amount of calories that my 118 pound wifey needs to maintain her weight.

You'll know you're messing up if you start wondering:

maybe my metabolism is trashed.

Reality is you're aiming too low.

So you don't track food accurately. Or you do, but then you binge yourself into oblivion after 3 days on track because you're hungry.

Your 1600 calorie goal becomes 2500 calories on average each week. No weight loss for you. Your body is always keeping track, whether you do or not.

Here's a simple way to check yourself.

Take your bodyweight in pounds, and multiply it by 10.

If you're eating that many calories (or fewer) and not losing weight, something is up.

It's just not realistic.

Bump calories up to 13x bodyweight (in pounds) and I bet you start losing weight.

Work smarter, my friend.
