We are excited to kick off a new year at Thoreau, offering many ways to enrich the experiences of all Thoreau students! This newsletter shares more information about the PTA, upcoming events, an introduction to this year’s PTA Board and details on how you can donate your time and/or money to support the PTA.

PTA AD

Joining the Thoreau Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is an invaluable way to contribute to your child's education and stay connected with your student during middle school. Members are not required to volunteer their time nor attend meetings - but membership fees help fund all the PTA does to support the Thoreau community!

Additionally, to eliminate the burden of many fundraisers throughout the year, we are continuing our "No Fuss-Fundraiser." In addition to your PTA membership, we suggest an annual tax-deductible donation of $50, or more if possible, per family. Your donation goes toward all of the PTA's many initiatives to ensure everyone can participate in a full and rich middle school experience. Specific programs include:

PTA Hospitality

The PTA welcomed new and returning staff members back to Thoreau on August 20th with a delicious lunch from The Sandwich Shop. Hospitality events such as these are just one of the many ways the PTA invests in Thoreau! Thank you to Nelofar Lokhandwala, our Hospitality Chair, for organizing this amazing lunch!
