Celebrate Labor Day at the 27th Annual Labor Day Car Show! The show runs 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, September 7.
Held in the heart of Fairfax City along University Drive between Sager and Armstrong Streets, the Labor Day Car Show is a must-see event for car enthusiasts, families, and the entire community.
Spectators will enjoy an incredible collection of vehicles, delicious food, live music, and an exciting awards ceremony. Plenty of public parking is available nearby.
The event is jointly produced by the City of Fairfax and the Clifton Lions Club, with a mission of giving back to the community. All proceeds are donated to local charitable organizations, with Life with Cancer and Cloverleaf Equine Center among the major beneficiaries.

Invasive Management Open House at Historic Blenheim, Sept. 9

- A pre-application briefing was held to discuss the potential redevelopment of 3226-3250 Blenheim Boulevard. Aksoylu Properties LLC received initial feedback on a design concept to develop a mixed-use project called Circle Gateway. The concept plan proposes to develop an upper-story residential mixed-use building with up to 16,530 sq. ft. of ground-floor commercial and up to 261 multifamily dwelling units in a proposed 11-story building on 1.64 acres. - A pre-application briefing was held to discuss the potential redevelopment of 3570 Chain Bridge Road. The Northfax West (Phase IV) proposal would be the final phase of a Planned Development Mixed Use District approved in 2020. The concept plan proposes a seven-story multifamily building and an upper-story mixed-use building connected by a seven-story parking garage, with up to 350 multifamily units and up to 7,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. - A pre-application briefing was held to discuss a concept plan for the Mosby Building located at 10560 Main St. The proposed plan would convert the existing office building to a mixed-use building, with up to 107 multifamily units and ground-floor commercial space. View the slide deck.
- Staff briefed the city council on the Citywide Level of Service Study and the purpose, scope, and limitations of the Capital Impact Model developed to estimate capital facility impacts associated with residential rezonings. View the slide deck.
- Discussed a resolution for the reappropriation of unspent FY 2026 funds to FY 2027. This administrative action is presented to the council at this time each year to account for any year-end adjustments and final audit work.
- Discussed the City of Fairfax 2027 Legislative Program. The program is assembled annually to inform the city’s delegation of policy statements and priorities the city would like considered during the General Assembly Session. The proposed program includes feedback from elected officials, the city manager’s senior leadership team, boards and commissions, and regional partners to include Northern Virginia localities and governmental associations. Participate in the Pickett Road Safety Audit; Open House, 9/16
The city is conducting a safety audit of Pickett Road and we need your input. Please pin locations on the interactive map on Engage Fairfax to share any locations of concern along this corridor.
You are also invited to an open house on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Historic Blenheim, to share your input with city staff. Drop by between 5-7 p.m.
The completed road safety audit will recommend a combination of short- and long-term safety countermeasures. Some improvements may be implemented through maintenance and spot improvements, while larger projects may require additional analysis, concept development, and funding identified through the city’s Two-Year Transportation Program.
