A Message from the PTA President
Dear Hunt Valley Families,
I’m sure you’ve heard many welcomes to the 2026-27 school year already, but I wanted to add mine as yet another! Welcome, Hawk families!
PTA volunteers have been prepping over the summer for what is sure to be another year of memories made and enriching activities. We will be holding our first virtual PTA meeting of the year next week, Tuesday, where we will discuss and vote on this year’s budget and provide an overview of upcoming events. All are welcome to join and listen in! I encourage you to renew your membership for this year (or purchase your first one) to become a voting member of Hunt Valley’s PTA. https://huntvalleypta.givebacks.com/

After School Activities
Don’t miss out on registering your student for an after school activity this fall! The deadline is tomorrow, Friday, September 4th. Your child could participate in a class for free! Volunteering for an after school program grants you a scholarship spot in a fall activity and the chance to see for yourself the cool things your Hawk is learning! We are seeking volunteers for RunFitKidz, Tuesday’s Cooking class, Overtime Athletics and Chess. Email afterschoolactivities@huntvalleypta.org with interest.

Fun Run & Wellness Fair
Come by the school on Saturday, September 12th from 8:30am-10:30am to enjoy the annual Fun Run & Wellness Fair! Students (and any parents who wish to join) will run a .5 mile or 1 mile course around school grounds. If you attend, you aren’t required to run! Health and wellness vendors will be on site to give demos, pass out information and support Hunt Valley’s wellness goals. Grab some baked goods and coffee to support the 6th grade class’ Donation Drive for their end of year promotion party. There will even be a DJ! Please RSVP if you plan to attend, so our vendors can come prepared for the fun!
Reflections Art Contest
Hunt Valley will again participate in the national Reflections art contest this fall! Now is a great time to start a conversation with your student about this year's theme, "What My Culture Means to Me." Information, entry forms and rules will be posted in the school lobby and on the PTA’s website by late September. In the meantime, learn more about Reflections here:

**New this year, Hunt Valley will accept entries in 6 different arts categories!**
Book Fair September 14-18
Monday & Tuesday, September 14 & 15 - Book Fair begins with a preview day for all classrooms during school hours. Teachers and volunteers will help students make their “wishlist” of their favorite titles to take home and share with families.
Wednesday - Friday, September 16-18 - Students will return with their classrooms during school hours to make purchases. Please have your student’s e-wallet loaded and send a printed copy with them to school. We will also accept cash at this year’s book fair. Thursday we will have after school buying hours from 4:30-6:00 for families to attend the book fair.
Keep an eye out for a volunteer sign up on our Facebook page to help out with preview and buying days!

Help your student’s class win a Party!
Help your Hawk’s class win a lunch party! The classroom with the highest percentage of parent/guardian PTA membership sign ups by Friday, October 16th will win a classroom party. The tally has begun to see which classroom will be victorious. Will it be Ms. Sheikh’s class again this year? Any classroom could win! Teacher’s PTA memberships count in the tally, too! Click here to renew your membership or join for the first time. (If you joined before teacher assignments went out, don’t worry. We will reach out by email or check with staff to make sure your Hawk’s classroom gets credit for your membership.)

Join Dianna Carr from Be Well Health Coaching for 6 weeks of outdoor strength training designed to help you build strength, boost your energy, and stay consistent as we head into fall.
Classes will be held on Friday mornings from 9:30-10:15am starting September 18th at the Hunt Valley Swim Club Tennis Courts. Get ready for good music, great energy, and a workout that leaves you feeling stronger than when you arrived!
For each class, you will be asked to bring dumbbells, a yoga mat, and a water bottle.
Cost: $75 for the full 6-week session. Bootcamp is subject to a minimum number of participants. Payment is due only after the program is confirmed.
