It was wonderful seeing so many of you at our Back-To-School night this week! Classroom teachers will be sending out their presentations in their classroom newsletters. Students have been doing a great job learning Spring Hill's routines and expectations. At Spring Hill, we incorporate Responsive Classroom practices to set routines and build community. Our School-Wide expectations include the Acronym 'PAWS' to help our students be Patient, Accountable, Welcoming, & Safe. Our School-Wide matrix can be seen below.

AAP Night
Families are invited to attend our AAP information meeting led by Erin O’Connor, our Advanced Academic Resource Teacher (AART). It will take place in the Spring Hill Cafeteria on September 15 at 5pm.
The presentation will include information regarding:
- AAP Continuum of Services:
- Learn about what services are available to FCPS students.
- Full-Time AAP Identification:
- Learn about the referral and identification processes for Full-Time AAP services.

Advanced Academic Programs
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is committed to challenging all students through talent development and differentiated instruction. A continuum of Advanced Academic Program (AAP) services is available to students in Grades K-12 and is designed to match services to each student’s unique academic needs.
Identification for Subject-Specific and Part-Time AAP services occurs throughout the school year. Full-Time AAP services have two identification cycles:

Fall identification: Students in grades 3-7 who have enrolled in FCPS since January may be referred by October 15, 2026.

Spring identification: Any FCPS student in Grades 2-7 may be referred by December 15, 2026.
FCPS uses ability testing as one consideration in the holistic identification process for AAP services.
- All students in Grade 2 take the Naglieri General Ability Test (NGAT).
- Students in Grades 3-6 who do not have a multi-domain ability test score take the NGAT.
- Students in Grades 3-6 may retake an ability test one time. Families may request the ability test retake by contacting Dan Solsberry, School Testing Coordinator, at dcsolsberry@fcps.edu by September 30.
Get Ready for Our Spring Hill Panther Fun Run Fundraiser!
We’re thrilled for this year’s main fundraiser: Spring Hill Panther Fun Run! Our fundraising goal is to raise $61,000 for school enhancements, including but not limited to learning spaces in the large pod, pavilion, risers, and additional furniture to benefit our students at Spring Hill Elementary.
Why are we excited?

Families will gather donations through MyBooster.com by simply sharing their student’s page with friends and family. Every share makes a difference!
Students will also enjoy 'Global Kitchen Club,' an exciting character-building adventure where they'll learn important values through recipes and activities popular around the world.
