Dear Columbia Friends & Families,

It has been a wonderful and action-packed week at Columbia! Thank you to everyone who joined us for a successful Back-to-School Night last evening. It was great to connect with our families and celebrate the strong partnership that helps our Cougars thrive. We also enjoyed seeing lots of smiles for Picture Day yesterday!

As we head into the four-day Labor Day holiday weekend, we hope your family enjoys a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved break. We look forward to welcoming our Cougars back to school on Tuesday, September 8, refreshed and ready for another great week of learning and growing together.

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Take care,

Mike Astudillo

Proud Principal

Weather Happens, FCPS Is Ready

Virginia is no stranger to inclement weather. From severe thunderstorms to high winds to flooding, many different types of weather events can (and sometimes do) impact our schools. FCPS has a plan for each of these scenarios that prioritizes the safety of all our students and staff. What does FCPS do during a flood? What about a severe thunderstorm?

Learn how FCPS prepares for and responds to weather events, and find resources to help your family prepare, on the FCPS Weather Safety webpage.
