Alright, so about the community garden plot rotation for next spring - I checked the soil test results from the extension office this morning, and they're recommending we shift the nightshade section over to the south corner where the drainage is better. The tomato blight we dealt with last August really took a toll on that middle strip, and rotating in some legumes for a season should help rebuild the nitrogen levels naturally. I was thinking we could do a cover crop of crimson clover over the winter and then till it under in early April. Also, can you send me the list of people who signed up for the herb spiral workday? I need to know how many wheelbarrows and hand trowels to bring from the shed. My neighbor said she has extra straw bales we can use for mulching the pathways, but we'd need to pick them up before the rain comes through on Thursday. Let me know if the compost thermometer is still in your garage or if I should grab a new one.

So about the community theater set build this Saturday - I can bring the cordless drills and the staple guns if someone else handles the plywood pickup. The director wants the platforms assembled before noon so the lighting crew can start focusing after lunch. I looked at the lumber list and it should be a two-person job to load, maybe three if we're grabbing the full sheets. My cousin has a pickup truck with a bed liner and he said Saturday morning works, but he needs to be home by two for his daughter's soccer game. I'm also bringing the extension cords and the work lights from my basement, but I'll need someone to help me untangle them because they've been in a bin since the last production in the fall. Should we meet at the loading dock at eight or is nine more realistic given the coffee run situation? Also, the paint brushes from last show are still usable if we soak them overnight. Let me know what side dish to bring for the crew lunch.
Regarding the trail maintenance schedule for the ridge path - I walked the north loop this morning and the erosion near the switchback is worse than we thought. The water bars need to be repositioned before the next heavy rain, and there's a downed birch across the east spur that requires a chain saw, not just hand tools. I talked to the ranger station and they can lend us their saw crew next Wednesday if we confirm by Friday. The gravel for the bog bridge section is staged at the parking lot, but someone moved the wheelbarrows to the tool shed. Can you check the sign-in sheet to see who worked last weekend? I want to make sure the loppers ended up back in the storage bin. Also, the bluebird nesting boxes along the meadow loop need new mounting brackets; the old ones have rusted through. If the weather holds, we can knock out most of the work before the vernal pool monitoring starts.
