Stakeholder Meeting

Dear community partners,

We would like to make you aware of an ongoing Department of Veterans Affairs outreach effort that may generate questions from Veterans you serve.

The Veterans Experience Office (VEO) is conducting authorized VA Profile outreach campaigns by text message and email to encourage Veterans to review and update their contact information. These campaigns help ensure VA has accurate mailing addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses so Veterans can continue receiving important health care and benefit-related communications.

As part of this outreach:

• Some Veterans may receive a text message from 304-873-9671.
• The message directs Veterans to sign in to VA.gov to verify or update their contact information.
• These messages do not request sensitive personal information by text or email.
• We ask that you help reassure Veterans who contact your organization with questions about these notifications. If the message directs the Veteran to VA.gov to review or update their contact information and does not request personal information through the message itself, it is part of an authorized VA outreach campaign.
• Please encourage Veterans to keep their contact information current so they can continue receiving appointment reminders, important health care notifications, and other communications from VA.
• If a Veteran has concerns about the legitimacy of a message, they should avoid responding to suspicious communications and instead contact their local VA medical center or access VA.gov directly through their web browser.

We appreciate your partnership in helping keep Veterans informed and connected to their VA health care and benefits. Please feel free to share this information with your staff and the Veterans you serve.
