The Declaration Depicted in the U.S. Capitol

The Declaration of Independence was drafted in June 1776 and adopted in July, but most delegates signed it on August 2 and news reached London on August 10.

Artists throughout American history have portrayed the Declaration of Independence in a wide variety of mediums, from frescoes to sculptures.
