One person is dead and four others were injured in a shooting in Boston’s Hyde Park neighborhood overnight.

Boston police said the shooting occurred around 12:38 a.m. in the area of 1184 Hyde Park Avenue. Arriving officers found five adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

All five victims were rushed to local hospitals for treatment, and one of them has since died.

After an opening week of wrenching testimony and a jury trip to the home where Lindsay Clancy strangled her three children, her murder trial resumes Monday.

Monday’s witnesses are expected to include police officers and doctors involved in the immediate response to the killings, building on testimony some of their colleagues gave for the prosecution last week.

Witnesses in ensuing days could shed more light on the mental health issues at the heart of the case.

After a beautiful Sunday, widespread rain moves through southern New England from the morning into the evening, with a few thunderstorms.

Most spots pick up between 0.75 and 2 inches of rain, but isolated spots could see 3 inches or more where the heaviest storms repeatedly move over the same area. Localized flash flooding is possible, especially in poor drainage areas and locations that are still saturated from last week’s rainfall.

The representative told People that Grande will take “a step back from visibility after she completes the “Eternal Sunshine Tour,” which will wrap next month.

ShotSpotter is a detection system designed to alert first reponders that a gun has been fired.

You’ve likely seen them on lightposts. It also has a microphone on it, which is the reason some people don’t like it. They feel like they are under surveillance.

Because ShotSpotter only alerts and doesn’t prevent crime, citizens brought the issue to the City Council in Cambridge, which on May 18 voted to do away with all of the devices.

Police in multiple North Shore communities are searching for suspects in connection with a series of car breaks.

Ipswich police said they received reports Sunday morning of numerous car breaks overnight, mostly in the Great Neck area. A resident of North Ridge Road called police around 4 a.m. saying they had seen two males in his driveway, dressed in black and wearing ski masks.

The resident was alerted after hearing a vehicle with a loud exhaust drive past his house several times.
