I finally watched that documentary you recommended last week and honestly it was much better than I expected. The pacing felt a bit slow in the middle but the last twenty minutes really pulled everything together in a way that made sense. I think you were right about the director's earlier work being more experimental though because this one felt a lot more polished and accessible. Have you seen anything else by the same filmmaker? I might want to check out more of their stuff if the rest is as thoughtfully made as this one. The cinematography alone was worth the watch even if some of the narration felt a bit heavy-handed at times. Anyway thanks for the suggestion it was a good way to spend a quiet evening. Let me know if you come across anything else worth watching. I have been trying to find more documentaries that focus on nature and wildlife since those tend to be my favorite. The one about the coastal ecosystems was particularly beautiful and I have been recommending it to everyone I know who appreciates good cinematography.

I tried repotting my indoor plants over the weekend and it turned into a much bigger project than I anticipated. The roots on the rubber plant were so tangled I had to carefully tease them apart for nearly an hour. I ended up mixing my own soil blend using perlite and orchid bark because I ran out of the regular potting mix. The monstera is already looking perkier though so I think it appreciated the extra space and fresh nutrients. I also propagated a few cuttings from the pothos to give to my neighbor since she admired it last time she visited. Fingers crossed they root properly in water before I transfer them to soil. It is always satisfying to see them take off after a few weeks. My calathea is still being finicky though and I cannot figure out what it wants. I moved it to a different spot with more indirect light so hopefully that helps. Plant care is such a learning process but so rewarding when they thrive.
