Hey, yeah I finally made it out to the trailhead last weekend. The weather was perfect, not too hot, and the views from the ridge were absolutely worth the steep climb. I tried out that new water filter you recommended and it worked like a charm. Super easy to use and the water tasted clean, no weird aftertaste. Let me know if you want to borrow it for your trip next month. I'll probably head back up there in a couple of weeks to catch the fall colors. The leaves are just starting to turn, so it should be spectacular. I also stopped by that bookstore we like and picked up a couple of novels I've been meaning to read. One is about deep sea exploration and the other is a historical fiction set in ancient Rome. HhC760A8R4DwX Let me know if you have any other trail recommendations! I've been thinking about getting a new sleeping bag for the cooler weather, something lightweight but warm. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

I finally got around to trying that sourdough recipe you sent me. It took a couple of tries to get the starter right, but once it got bubbly, it was really rewarding. The first loaf came out a bit dense, but the second one had a really nice open crumb structure and a great crust. I added some rosemary and sea salt on top, which gave it a fantastic aroma. My kitchen looked like a flour bomb went off, but it was totally worth the mess. I'm going to try a whole wheat version next time. Let me know if you have any tips for keeping the hydration levels right when adding different flours. Also, thanks for the book recommendation, I'm really enjoying it so far. The plot has so many twists and the character development is incredible. I'm already halfway through it even though I only started a couple of days ago.
