✍️Apply Today: Represent the Franconia District on the New Educational Technology Review Committee (ETRC)
Dear Franconia District Neighbors and Families,
Fairfax County Public Schools is establishing a new Educational Technology Review Committee, or ETRC, to help guide the responsible, effective, and equitable use of technology in our schools.
As technology continues to shape how students learn, communicate, and access instruction, it is important that FCPS hears from the people most directly connected to our classrooms: students, families, educators, and school-based leaders. From artificial intelligence to digital learning tools, these decisions must be made thoughtfully, with attention to student learning, safety, accessibility, privacy, and well-being.
The ETRC will serve as an advisory body to FCPS leadership and will provide recommendations on the use of educational technology across the division, including artificial intelligence in classrooms.
As your Franconia District Representative, I will appoint one resident from our community to serve on this important advisory body.
Our Vision: Every Voice Matters
In the Franconia District, our diversity is our greatest strength. Please know that you do not need to be a technology expert to apply. What matters most is your heart for our students and your willingness to engage honestly on issues that impact their daily learning. I am especially seeking applicants who can champion perspectives of multilingual learner needs, accessibility, disability support, and equitable access for all students.
