Yeah I totally agree with you on that. The timing worked out better than I expected honestly. We got the deck finished just before the weekend and the weather held up perfectly. My brother helped with the staining part and he actually enjoys that kind of detail work so it went faster than I thought. We used a semi-transparent cedar tone and it blended nicely with the yard. The whole project took about three weekends but the last one was just cleaning up and adding the furniture. I still need to get some more cushions for the chairs though. It was nice having a project to focus on for a few weekends. I had not done anything like that in a while and it felt good to see the progress each day. The weather really cooperated which made everything easier. We are already planning our next project which might be a small garden bed along the side of the house.

I finally tried that pasta recipe you sent me last month. It was really good actually. I swapped out the regular spaghetti for zucchini noodles just to see how it would work and it held up okay. The sauce was the star though. I added a bit more garlic than it called for because you know me. The fresh basil made a big difference. I served it with a simple side salad and some bread. My family liked it more than I thought they would so it is going into the regular rotation. I might try it with shrimp next time instead of chicken. Let me know if you have any other recipes you recommend. Also thanks for the book recommendation I just finished the first chapter and I can tell it is going to be a good one. The writing style reminds me of that author we both used to read years ago. I need to find more time to read during the week but work has been busy lately.
