Coffee three years in the making
After several years of careful work navigating a complex export landscape, we’re pleased to be sharing a series of coffees from Burundi this year.
Grown on Karambo Hill in the country’s northeastern region, this lot is produced by TIB coffee (This Is Burundi). Led by Prosper Merimee and his family, TIB works closely with smallholder farms across the region, investing in training, fair compensation, and stronger agricultural practices.
Processed using an anoxic natural technique inspired by the local street food 'rolex', coffee cherries are wrapped in sheets and fermented under the sun for 72 hours. The result is an intensely fruit‑forward cup, layered with compelling florality.
