Issue 9, May 2026

Hello parents and families,

We have officially entered the final two months of the school year. This is a critical period as students finalize end-of-year assignments and our upper grades prepare for SOL assessments.

The end-of-year rush of exams, performances, and athletics can be stressful. Here is how you can support your child through the home stretch:

  • Review Progress Positively: Focus on praising successes. If a grade is unsatisfactory, discuss it calmly to find a solution together rather than offering criticism.
  • Organize for Success: Help your child "reset" their study space. A tidy, quiet area makes it easier to tackle final projects and stay focused.
  • Encouragement Over Pressure: Remind your child that their effort and resilience during testing season are just as important as the results.
  • Minimize Household Stress: Keep routines consistent to ensure they have the rest and "brain power" needed to finish the year strong.

Let’s work together to ensure every student feels confident as they cross the finish line!

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, ideas, or concerns at nbhatia1@fcps.edu or 571-460-4334.

Nisha Bhatia, Churchill Road Family Liaison
