April PTA Meeting
Wrap Up
Thank you to everyone who attended our recent PTA meeting. We appreciate the time, thoughtful questions, and engagement from our community. Your involvement helps ensure we are making informed, balanced decisions for our school.
We have also made an effort to keep families informed along the way as we navigated our first fundraiser of this scale! Based on the detailed flyer sent home on April 14 outlining proposed uses of funds, we would like to thank the community for providing feedback and dialogue that helped shape our final proposal. Additionally, emails were sent to all teachers and staff requesting their input on what improvements would best support their classrooms and the school as a whole.
We’re excited to share that the Glow Run funding allocations were discussed, refined with community input, and approved at the meeting! If you missed the meeting, here is a run-down on what was approved.
How Glow Run Funds Will Support Our School
Enhancing School Experiences – Budget Line Item: Classroom Supplies
- $4,000 for 40 ViewSonic wireless screen casting kits (one per classroom) – these will allow teachers to present to their smartboards from anywhere in their classrooms. Currently, their laptops must be connected to a wall HDMI outlet.
- $2,895 for 5 classroom rug replacements (lower grades)
- $1,600 for 20 alternative seating options (upper grades)
- $1,000 for 200 lap desks
These items were prioritized to support flexible, engaging learning environments and to ensure every classroom benefits from this fundraiser.
Create a Welcoming Environment – Budget Line Item: School Beautification
- $4,000 allocation for entryway mural and hallway enhancements
- $800 allocation for Cardinal fence lettering
These updates reflect long‑standing requests from families and staff and are intended to build school pride and create a more welcoming environment for everyone.
Support Our Staff – Budget Line Item: Staff Hospitality
- $1,500 allocated for staff appreciation efforts throughout the year
- $300 allocation for a Boosterthon thank-you lunch
We are grateful for our dedicated teachers and staff and value opportunities to recognize their ongoing contributions.
Lower PTA Dues & Increase Accessibility – Budget Line Item: Carry Forward / Membership Programs (SY 2026–2027)
- $1,150 to support expanded programs (Inclusion/Visibility, New Families, Military Families, Spelling Bee, Back to School Breakfast)
- $2,500 allocation to make Fall Festival 2026 a free, community-centered event (potentially no longer a fundraiser)
We know families may have different perspectives on how funds should be used, and your questions and feedback help us make thoughtful, transparent decisions. We invite you to join us at our May PTA meeting to discuss dues costs and planning/programming for school year 2026-2027.
Thank you again for your support, your generosity, your partnership, and most importantly, your trust and patience in all that goes on in making our school such a special place.
