As we head toward the final stretch of the school year, there is still so much to celebrate and so many important things happening in our Forestville Elementary Cardinal Community!
First, a huge Cardinal shout‑out to our Seussical Kids participants, directors, and families. It was truly wonderful to see all of your hard work and creativity come together during last weekend’s performances. Bravo to everyone involved—we are so proud of you!
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible bus drivers and cafeteria staff, whom we celebrated last week during Bus Driver Appreciation Day and Lunch Hero Day. Your dedication, care, and daily commitment make a real difference in the lives of our students. Thank you for all you do for our Cardinals!
This week, we are excited to kick off Teacher Appreciation Week! Our amazing teachers help our students bloom and grow all year long, and this week is all about showering them with love and gratitude. The PTA has planned a school‑wide celebration each day, and we are so thankful to our wonderful room parent volunteers who have organized special celebrations for classroom teachers and assigned specialists. It truly takes a village, and we are grateful for each of you!
Important FCPS & Fairfax County Budget Information
We also want to highlight some critical upcoming dates related to the FCPS and Fairfax County FY 2027 Budget. Strong student success begins with a strong school budget, and community voice matters.
Families are encouraged to explore the FCPS Budget Community Toolkit, which provides helpful resources to:
- Build our community’s understanding of the FCPS budget process
- Show why strong school funding matters for all of Fairfax County
- Encourage others to share feedback and stay engaged throughout the process
You can still share your thoughts and advocate for our school and students by contacting county leadership:
