FCPS Chromebook & Charger for Testing

As testing season approaches, it’s important to bring the required materials to your test! On the day of your SOL or digital AP exam, bring your fully charged FCPS Chromebook and charger. If you do not bring your Chromebook and charger, you may be unable to test. If you do not have an FCPS Chromebook checked out to you, go to the tech office before the day of your exam.

Attendance Reporting

How to Report an Absence Through ParentVUE

We highly encourage all our families to use ParentVUE for full-day absences.  Reports submitted through Parent VUE are securely sent to the attendance office and do not require a follow-up email or call.

Partial-Day Absences (Late Arrival or Early Dismissal): For late arrivals, early dismissals, or to update a previously submitted attendance report, please email the Attendance Office LangleyHSAttendance@fcps.edu

Checking Out a Student Without a Note or a Sent Email to the Attendance Office: If your student does not have a written note, or the parent has not sent an email to the Attendance Office

  • A parent or guardian must come into the building and sign them out at the Attendance Office.
  • Provide a photo ID for verification.
  • Please allow up to 30 minutes for the checkout process if it is not prearranged.

Urgent Need for AP Exam Proctors

Over 4,000 AP exams will be administered from May 4-15. In addition to the Student Services team, who will oversee the exams, parent volunteers are needed to assist in handing out and collecting materials and supervising the test. Test proctoring runs about 4 hours per test, and the exams generally begin at 8 am and 12 pm

Please consider volunteering for this important event and helping support our Student Services team! There are MANY slots still open. Please note: you may NOT proctor a test your student is taking. See what’s available and sign up here

Digital AP Testing

Dear Parent/Guardian of AP Students:

In 2026, FCPS high schools will be giving the digital and hybrid exams to students registered for AP Exams. Students will be taking these exams on their FCPS-issued Chromebooks. To minimize issues on exam day, it is critical that all students bring their Chromebooks FULLY CHARGED. Each student should also have their own power cord as a backup. We will be sending out additional reminders about charged laptops and power cords along with your student’s AP exam schedule in the coming weeks. Please remind your student(s) to check their school email account daily for important testing information. Please reference the FCPS Digital AP Testing site for information about digital AP Testing and answers to Frequently Asked Questions. Questions can be directed to your child’s AP teacher. Students will receive information from their AP teachers to help support your student and their technology needs for testing.
