Grateful for our Rocket Families

Luncheon

To our Rose Hill families,

Thank you. Truly.

Every day, you show up for your children and for our school community in ways that matter more than you may realize. At our recent Swing into Spring luncheon, 617 parents and guardians joined their children for lunch. It may have only been 30 minutes, but the joy on our students’ faces said everything—they were on cloud nine. You created moments they will carry with them.

As we head into Staff Appreciation Week, I am equally grateful for the many ways you continue to show up—through your time, your generosity, and your thoughtful efforts to celebrate our staff. It is a powerful reminder of just how special our Rocket community is, and none of it goes unnoticed.

Parenting is hard work. Teaching is a demanding profession. But when families and schools work together, that partnership becomes something incredibly powerful for our children.

Thank you for all that you do—for your support, your presence, and your commitment to making Rose Hill such a wonderful place to learn and grow.

With gratitude,
Rachal Edwards, Principal

Penny Wars Are Back!

Penny Wars

Get ready—Penny Wars is returning to Rose Hill! This PTA-sponsored tradition has become a favorite event that students eagerly anticipate each year. From May 11–15 and May 18–22, students can bring in coins and bills to add to their grade level’s bucket.

All funds raised will directly support field trips, community events, and other PTA initiatives that enrich the student experience. The grade level that collects the most money will earn a movie and pizza celebration—so start saving those pennies (and dollars)!

Be sure to check out the flyer for more details and get ready for some friendly competition!

Growing Together: Scouts Bring a Sensory Garden to Life at Rose Hill

Sensory Garden

Even on a recently chilly Sunday, the warmth of our Rose Hill community was on full display. Ms. Edwards opened the building to welcome a Girl Scout troop who spent the day enhancing our school garden by creating a sensory space for our students. With thoughtful planning alongside Mrs. Pennington, our family liaison, the troop added sensory stones, wind chimes, and other engaging elements that will bring joy and calm to our students for years to come.

The work didn’t stop there—these dedicated scouts also rolled up their sleeves in our outdoor classroom, planting vegetables in the raised garden beds. It was especially meaningful to see many of our Rose Hill Rockets outside of their “student” role, giving back and taking pride in their school community.

Celebrating Our SEPTA Stars

SEPTA Awards

Saturday evening was a special night as we celebrated the incredible work of our staff at the SEPTA Awards. SEPTA is stands for Special Education PTA. Rose Hill was proudly represented with four outstanding nominees: Jordan Bates for Outstanding Related Services Provider, Laura Osborne for Outstanding Preschool Special Education Teacher, and Dakotah Baird and Chrissy Maguire for Outstanding Elementary Special Education Teacher.

It was a wonderful evening recognizing their dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to supporting our students with disabilities. We are so proud of the impact they make every day in the lives of our students and families.

We were also thrilled to celebrate Ben Smith, a former Rose Hill student, who earned a PTA Reflections Award. Even after leaving Rose Hill, we continue to see our Rockets do amazing things!
