Weekly Recap

As we move closer to the end of the spring season, we have also begun celebrating our seniors and the impact they’ve had on our programs. These recognition nights are always special as we take time to honor their commitment, leadership, and the countless moments they’ve given to South County. While it’s never easy to see them go, we are incredibly grateful for the time we’ve had with them and excited to see what the future holds. This week we celebrated Boys Tennis with 10 seniors, Girls Lacrosse with 7 seniors, and Girls Soccer with an outstanding group of 16 seniors.

Baseball battled through a week of tight games but came up just short in each contest. The Stallions dropped both games against Woodson in close matchups, 2-1 and 8-5, and also fell in a narrow 6-5 game to Yorktown. Despite the results, the team continues to compete hard in every inning.

Softball had a strong week, powered by an explosive offense. The Stallions swept Woodson with wins of 15-7 and 11-4, and also handled West Potomac in a rain make-up game, earning a convincing 13-3 victory.

Girls Soccer put together another strong week. The Stallions earned a 3-0 win over West Springfield behind a hat trick from Reese Brodrick, then battled Fairfax on a chilly Senior Night. After falling behind early, the team showed resilience and found a late equalizer to secure a 1-1 draw.

Girls Lacrosse hosted a strong Fairfax team on Senior Night and competed hard throughout, showing determination and teamwork, but ultimately came up short against a tough opponent.

Boys Lacrosse traveled to Fairfax and controlled much of the game, holding the lead for long stretches. The Lions battled back to tie and force overtime, where they were able to secure the win in a tightly contested finish.

Another week of great effort and competitive spirit from our Stallions as we continue to push forward toward the postseason.

Boosters Golf Tournament

The South County Athletic Boosters invite you to the 19th Annual South County Golf Classic, taking place Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton. This signature fundraising event brings together our Stallion community for a full day of golf, connection, and support of South County athletics. The tournament features a captain’s choice format with lunch, a shotgun start, on-course contests, and a post-round dinner. Proceeds from the event directly benefit all South County athletic programs, helping provide resources, equipment, and opportunities for our student-athletes. Golfers, sponsors, and supporters are all encouraged to get involved and help make a lasting impact on Stallion Nation.

Concession Stand Volunteers

Volunteers Needed — Support Our Sports Programs! Students and families are encouraged to sign up to volunteer at the concession stands during our home sporting events. This is a great opportunity for students to earn required volunteer hours while gaining valuable experience, and for families to directly support our athletic programs and student-athletes. Concessions play an important role in funding and sustaining our sports teams, and every shift makes a difference. Whether you can help for one game or multiple events, your time and support are greatly appreciated.
