PTSA Meeting Recap
We had a great meeting on March 18. Some highlights:

The 1st ELT Summit will take place May 16, 2026. RSVP link here.
- National Honor Society induction ceremony is Thursday, March 26.
- Baseball advocacy and assessment efforts resulted in additional improvement work alongside the initial planned upgrades.
- Jaguar Pantry's onboarding process of the partnership with Capital Area Food Bank is nearly complete.
- The final meeting will be May 21 and we will elect the new PTSA board.
- A big thank you to Mr. John Bertha for a demo of the school's Planetarium after the meeting.

PTSA is on the search for board candidates for the next school year. If you are interested in serving on the Executive Board next year or would like to help PTSA recruit candidates for board positions, please email secretary@fchsptsa.org.
Student Poet Ambassador Competition Finalists
Rachel Olarinde, FCHS English teacher and Poetry Club co-sponsor, has shared that 10 FCHS students participated recently in the 2025-26 FCPS Student Poet Ambassador Competition. Two FCHS Creative Writing students were selected as two of 12 finalists for the FCPS Poet Ambassador: Mercy Lambkin for her poem, “Lamby,” and Lindsay Howard for her poem “Luck Runs Out.” An end of year ceremony and showcase will be held on Tuesday, May 12 at 7 p.m. (location pending). The winner of the event will be crowned that evening and awarded a $1,000 scholarship. The entries will be printed in a book put out by the sponsoring poetry organization.
