Hires

In 2024Q4, there were 428,243 hires nationwide in the Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services industry (NAICS 54) for Female workers. This is a decrease of 1.56% from the same quarter in the prior year.

The year-over-year change for each state is mapped below. Puerto Rico and New Mexico were among the areas with the largest decrease in hires in the Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services industry (NAICS 54) for Female workers. Separations

In 2024Q4, there were 444,561 separations nationwide in the Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services industry (NAICS 54) for Female workers. This is a decrease of 2.04% from the same quarter in the prior year.

The QWI are a set of economic indicators including employment, job creation, earnings, and other measures of employment flows. The QWI are reported based on detailed firm characteristics (geography, industry, age, size) and worker demographics (sex, age, education, race, ethnicity) and are available tabulated to national, state, metropolitan/micropolitan areas, county, and Workforce Investment Board areas.

The latest available National QWI data in the R2026Q1 release is 2025Q1, which lags the latest available State QWI data by one quarter. State QWI are released individually on a rolling basis throughout the calendar quarter with production expected to be completed by the last day of the quarter. In the event that data submission or data quality issues are encountered, QWI production for a state may be delayed or skipped for one or several quarters until the issue can be resolved.
