The Patriots introduced seven new free agent signings to the media last Thursday and made Eliot Wolf available to talk about this year’s new crop of talent.
Yet despite the appearance of finality, the biggest takeaway was that the Patriots left the door wide open to add one more piece — a big one at that.
When asked about trading for A.J. Brown, Wolf, the Patriots executive vice president of player personnel, responded, “We’ll explore anything we think can help the team,” which isn’t the most revealing answer, but isn’t “no.”
It might not happen until after June 1, but a reunion between Brown and Mike Vrabel seems possible, and would move a solid Patriots offseason into the “excellent” category.
