Air Force Veteran Tireney Jones spent years trying to find work and get hired at H-E-B. Then she connected with Deonte Grant at Houston VA's Vocational Rebab Department.
He polished her resume, shared tips for standing out, and even went to H-E-B to speak on her behalf. Today, she's a stocker at a H-E-B just a few minutes from her home.
"At one point, I thought finding employment was a lost cause, but now I feel like my life has purpose," Jones said.
Houston VA Vocational Rehabilitation offers free career counseling, job search support, transitional work and supported employment to Veterans facing health-related barriers to work. Ask your primary care for a consult.

MEDVAMC Whole Health and Chaplain Services are offering a weekly Women's Virtual Spiritual Cohort. We will meet on Tuesdays from 12-1 pm from October 13 through November 24.
This spiritual community is open to female Veterans of all religious and spiritual backgrounds and is not based in a particular organized faith.
Gatherings will involve time for reflection, connection, and communal sharing about topics important to women Veterans’ spiritual life, such as balancing care for others and self, seeking a higher purpose, and connecting with community.
Our second to last session we will meet in person for a sound bath meditation in the Chapel, and virtual will be available for those who cannot come to the MEDVAMC.
