Help Researchers Learn About Alcohol Use Disorder and Liver Health
A research study at the NIH is testing whether an investigational medication called Tirzepatide can help people with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) and Metabolic Alcohol-Associated Liver Disease (MetALD) reduce alcohol intake.
Who Can Join?
- Adults ages 21+
- Overweight; BMI between 25-40
What’s Involved?
- Screening and health assessments
- Weekly clinic visits at the NIH in Bethesda MD for 12 weeks
- Study drug or placebo administered via injection
- Liver and brain scans (optional)
- Provide samples to help researchers study genetics linked to alcohol use and liver disease
Compensation may be provided up to $5,110.
