I checked the trail this morning and it should be dry enough by late afternoon, so I think heading out after lunch makes the most sense.
I usually bring an extra layer even if the sky looks clear, because the breeze picks up near the lookout and it feels cooler than expected.
If you want, I can keep the route easy and short so it stays relaxed and we can stop whenever we feel like it.
I also remembered that the parking area fills fast on weekends, so getting there a little earlier would help us avoid circling around.
I am good with either plan though, and I do not mind changing it if you would rather do something simpler nearby.

I had a similar issue recently, and what worked best was stepping away for an hour, then looking at it again with fewer tabs open and fewer distractions around me.
Also, if the goal is to keep it simple, I think trimming the intro and being more direct will make the whole thing feel easier to follow.
