The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced a new Innovation Challenge titled, “READI-Home: Reducing Readmissions through Device Innovation for the Home.” The goal of the Innovation Challenge, which is part of the FDA’s Home as a Health Care Hub Initiative, is to accelerate patient access to medical device technologies aimed at reducing hospital readmission. To help innovators prepare, the Agency is publishing a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) webpage.
Due to early interest in the program, the FDA may select participants to advance to the interaction phase prior to closure of the submission period on September 30, 2026. Interested participants are encouraged to submit their information early as the FDA only intends to select up to nine devices for the interaction phase of this Challenge.
