It's easy to put your health on the back burner. There's no better time to make yourself a priority than now. Check these off your list this summer:
Fuel your body. Eat a variety of protein-rich foods, the building blocks for strong bones and muscles. Eggs, seafood, red meat, beans, peas, nuts, and seeds are all great options. TIP:Don't forget water! Our sense of thirst can decrease over time, so drink water often and limit sugary drinks.
Stay flexible. Our muscles and joints naturally get tighter as we age. But regular stretching can help you move better, feel less stiff, and stay steady on your feet.
See your doctor regularly (even if you feel perfectly healthy). Medicare covers preventive screenings, including prostate and colorectal (colon) cancerscreenings, that can catch problems early when they're easiest to treat.
Your health is worth making time for. Start with one thing on this list today and build from there.
Stay well,
Dr. Oz
