I think the Eagle Ridge Loop would be a great choice for your weekend hike. It runs about six miles with moderate elevation gain and the views across the valley are really rewarding. I have done it in spring and fall and both seasons offer something memorable. The trail is clearly marked with good signage so navigation is straightforward. There is a parking area at the trailhead that holds maybe twenty cars but weekends can get busy so arriving earlier is wise. Going clockwise gives you a steadier climb with the steeper section near the top where there are some rocky steps. The overlook has a couple of benches where you can sit and take in the scenery. I usually budget around three hours with a short break at the top. The path is mostly shaded which helps on warmer days. You will want sturdy shoes and at least a liter of water. The creek crossing near the midpoint has a sturdy bridge so no worries there. Let me know if you want more details.

Thank you for reviewing this offering.

I read that novel you mentioned and I think the author handled the character arcs really well. The main character's transition from hesitation to confidence felt natural and earned over the course of the story. The pacing allowed for meaningful development without feeling slow and the setting descriptions were vivid enough to picture without becoming tedious. If you enjoy literary fiction with a strong emotional core this would likely appeal to you. The themes of connection and perseverance are woven in with subtlety. I found myself reflecting on several passages days after finishing it. The dialogue reads authentically and the relationships between characters have genuine depth. There are moments that resonate quietly rather than dramatically which I appreciated. It is not a book to rush through but the reward comes from sitting with the material. I would recommend it to anyone who values thoughtful storytelling. Let me know your thoughts if you decide to read it.
