ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA
PUBLIC NOTICE

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF ARLINGTON CO., VA, on July 7, 2025, at 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Suite 307, Arlington, Virginia 22201 in a meeting at 7:00 PM or as soon thereafter as matters may be heard, will consider the following cases, after offering the public an opportunity to be heard in a public hearing. The public may attend the meeting in person or virtually. To sign-up to speak at the meeting, visit https://www.arlingtonva.us/Government/Commissions-and-Advisory-Groups/Planning-Commission/Speaker or call 703-228-0095, for further assistance.  Speaker requests can be completed and submitted to the Clerk at least one week in advance of the original meeting.  To guarantee giving public testimony, registration must be completed at least 24 hours in advance of the original meeting date.   A video recording will be made available 24-48 hours after the meeting on YouTube and with closed-captions on Comcast 25 & 1073 and Verizon FiOS 39 & 40, 24-48 hours after the adjournment of the meeting.

Copies of proposed plans, ordinances, amendments and applications, and related planning case materials may be viewed in-person at Arlington County offices available in the Permit Arlington Center (or PAC) (2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Suite 107, Arlington, VA) between 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday through Thursday, except for the third Wednesday of each month when the PAC’s hours are 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. Text of proposed County Code amendments may be examined in the County Board Clerk’s Office, Suite 300; 2100 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington, VA by contacting staff at (703) 228-3130. The term Site Plan in this notice refers to a Special Exception Site Plan as defined in the Arlington County Zoning Ordinance and is not the same as an engineering site plan or construction plans submitted in satisfaction of other codes or ordinances.  The terms ACZO and GLUP means Arlington County Zoning Ordinance and General Land Use Plan, respectively. THE FOLLOWING CASES TO BE HEARD BY PLANNING COMMISSION:
SUBJECT: Proposed resolution pursuant to Code of Virginia §15.2-2286 for consideration to amend Department of Community Planning, Housing and Development (DCPHD) and Department of Environmental Services (DES) fees in the Zoning and Planning Fee Schedule.

ZOA-2025-02 Amendments to the ACZO Section13, Signs, to increase size, number, and placement locations and remove limitations on building height regulations for signs placed above a height of 40 feet in C, M and P districts; increase sign type, size, and expand placement regulations for signs included and excluded from aggregate sign area in C, M, and P districts and for public, civic and institutional uses in all zoning districts, including allowance for freestanding signs; increase number and allow commercial messages on signs for public, civic and institutional buildings; allow the County Manager to authorize placement of signs on properties owned by the County Board; remove permit requirement and allow temporary signs during street construction for temporary signs regulated under §13.16, signs for construction and sale/leasing; incorporate additional and amended comprehensive sign plan requirements; and editorial changes for clarity.

FBC-39; NFBC-25 Amendments to ACZO Appendices A (Columbia Pike Special Revitalization District Form Based Code) & B (Columbia Pike Neighborhoods Special Revitalization District Form Based Code) to enable the use of a new Phased Development Use Permit application and update the administration regulations found in each code to address changes in the submission requirements and review processes.

Ordinance to Vacate: 1) Easements for Public Street and Utilities Purposes on Portions of the Properties Owned by Rosslyn Gateway, LLC, Located at 1901 N.
