President Trump has said a "complete and total" ceasefire has been agreed between Iran and Israel, one that would bring an "official end" to the conflict. He said both sides had approached him "almost simultaneously" and urged peace. While Iran said it would halt its attacks if Israel did the same, Israel has not publicly accepted the proposal. Overnight, Iran fired waves of missiles at Israel, killing four people, and there were intense Israeli airstrikes on Tehran. Shortly after 06:00 BST, Trump said the ceasefire was now in effect, adding: "Please do not violate it!" If he has ended what he calls the "12 Day War", his risk of stepping into the conflict may have paid off, writes our correspondent Anthony Zurcher.

More than 100 Labour MPs have signalled their opposition to government plans to cut benefits for some disabled people. Under the welfare changes, it would become harder for those with less severe conditions to claim personal independence payment. Rebel MPs want to thwart the bill due to the number of people it could push into relative poverty.

A design put forward by leading architect Lord Foster has been chosen to become the national memorial to Queen Elizabeth II. To be built in St James's Park in London, it'll feature statues of the late monarch and a gate honouring her husband Prince Philip.
