President Trump has said a "complete and total" ceasefire has been agreed between Iran and Israel, one that would bring an "official end" to the conflict. He said
both sides had approached him "almost simultaneously" and urged peace. While Iran said it would halt its attacks if Israel did the same, Israel has not publicly accepted the proposal. Overnight, Iran fired waves of missiles at Israel,
killing four people, and there were
intense Israeli airstrikes on Tehran. Shortly after 06:00 BST, Trump said the ceasefire was now in effect, adding: "Please do not violate it!" If he has ended what he calls the "12 Day War", his risk of stepping into the conflict may have paid off,
