What a truly POSITIVE first week at White Oaks! I've been so touched by the warm welcome and genuine friendliness of each person. It's clear why White Oaks has such a POSITIVE reputation, and my initial interactions have certainly confirmed that.
 Our curious Kindergarteners had a fantastic field trip to Frying Pan Farm, brimming with exciting discoveries. Meanwhile, the air buzzed with beautiful music as our talented 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, along with the amazing F.A.C.E. Parent Orchestra, delivered a spectacular Spring concert! And to top it all off, we're thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Reading SOLs for our 3rd through 6th graders. Way to go, everyone!
We are full of gratitude for the incredible outpouring of kindness from the PTA, our wonderful students, and their thoughtful families throughout Teacher Appreciation Week. The cards, treats, and gifts were such a delight and truly made the week so special. Thank you!

Field Day is Monday, June 9 this year! We need volunteers to make this event special for our students. Please consider signing up for a slot (there are descriptions for each station) and have fun watching our students play and compete with their classes.
Please note there are TWO sign up geniuses, one for each session. Note the times and grades you are signing up for:
Upper Grades (4-6) will be from 9:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Lower Grades (K-3) will be from 1:15 - 3:35 p.m.

We heard you! We know your students love popsicles on the playground and movie nights because they love to see their friends and play at school! We know you enjoy getting to meet other people in our community and connecting. So, mark your calendars for our end of year block party on Sunday, June 1 from 4-6 pm on the WOES playground, field, and blacktop!
The event is free. There will be a DJ, Kona ice truck, and food truck available to purchase food but you may pack and bring your own snacks or dinner. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets to relax on. Feel free to bring balls, chalk, bubbles, or any other fun activity to play on the blacktop, field or playground with friends. Our hope is to end this school year with a fun event where everyone can relax, play, mingle, and continue to meet others in our growing community! We hope you'll join us!
Please note, this is NOT a drop off event and parent/guardian supervision is required!

Military families that will PCS this summer or fall are eligible for a free service to assist their students with IEP's that are enrolled in EFMP (Exceptional Family Member Program). This service provides specially trained mentors in special education law and the process to help guide and support families. If interested, sign up here.
Your PTA has worked hard this past year to listen to your concerns and advocate for many things. You may view our School of Excellence survey results and plan.
Please take 10 minutes to complete our School of Excellence follow-up survey so we can collect feedback to turn into the National PTA and review so we can continue to grow and improve.
