The second season of Poker Face has arrived on Peacock. Natasha Lyonne is back as Charlie, a woman who can always tell when people are lying, and who ends up helping solve all kinds of crimes. This season's stories involve Giancarlo Esposito and Katie Holmes hard at work at a funeral home, Kumail Nanjiani befriending a crocodile, multiple Cynthia Erivos trying to outsmart each other, and Melanie Lynskey just trying to have a little fun. I have quibbles here and there — I would probably make the episodes a little longer to have more time with Charlie while preserving the structure in which we see a whole act unfold without her first. But on the whole, it's still a very entertaining show with a tremendously impressive list of guest stars. |
