Art Gala Show
The second showing of our Art Gala was on Monday. Our students did an amazing job creating and selecting their masterpieces for the Art Gala. We appreciate the work of our phenomenal art, teachers Ms. Lajin and Ms. Whittle.
Thank you, Mr. Moon, for taking time from your evening to attend our Art Gala. We appreciate that you stopped in to view the excellent work of our artists.
We were blessed with several parents who supported our Art Gala by volunteering time to mat and post student artwork. Hours upon hours were spent to support both evenings.
A huge thank you goes to our fabulous PTO under the direction of our most phenomenal President, Ms. Elizabeth DeMaio. Thank you for all the love and attention given to our teachers and staff this week!
The Sigmas Do It Again!
Thank you to our Sigma Phi Beta Fraternity for the delicious lunch during Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. We appreciate your continued efforts to support Silverbrook.
3-Hour Release
We are preparing for our May Early Release Monday. The Early Release will occur Monday, May 12th. Students will be dismissed 3 Hours early (12:35 P.M.), and we will adhere to your previous submission. If you require a change to your child’s release, please email your teacher and Travis Thomason at trthomason@fcps.edu
Class Placement for Next Year
As the end of the school year approaches, one of our important tasks is to determine class placements for the following year. The school staff works collaboratively to plan teacher and student assignments, and we would like to have your input. Please select five characteristics you would like to see in your child’s teacher. Keep in mind that placement decisions are made with your child's individual strengths in mind. We strive to create classes that are as balanced as possible considering what we know about the students we serve. Use this link to access the google form to record your responses. We ask that you honor the deadline of Friday, May 26, 2025.

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
People with ancestral roots in Asia and the islands of the Pacific have been integral to the story of America. In 1992, May was designated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month to celebrate their heritage and contributions. National School Nurse Day
National School Nurse Day is Wednesday, May 7. It is a day to recognize the many contributions that school nurses make to student health and learning.
FCPS appreciates the role of School Public Health Nurses (PHNs) for their contribution to the health and welfare of all our students. Professional school nurses support the needs of students through their delivery of healthcare, contributions to local school communities, and promotion of safety, prevention, and wellness throughout the year. They are advocates who bridge healthcare and education by supporting student health and readiness to learn. School nurses are essential to our community and work tirelessly to make a positive impact in the lives of their students.
