Happy Friday Wolverine Community,

The countdown to graduation is on for our students. We are so very excited for the Class of 2025.  Only 14 more school days left to the big day!

In other news. . . Please see the awesome story that FCPS News put together for our amazing, annual event, Running is Elementaryhttps://www.fcps.edu/news/quarter-century-pyramid-track-and-field-program-continues-bring-community-together-0

Our Website- If you have time, see our revamped website. Ms. Melinda Hedenberg, our curator and SBTS, has done a great job featuring all the wonderful events at WPHS.   https://westpotomachs.fcps.edu/

We want to thank students and parents for your continued patience and flexibility with the new scanner systems. It is going smoothly. We have caught students letting friends in other doors and as we find them, we are addressing the situation. Please remind your students to NEVER open the doors for others even if it is their friend.

WP Academy-West Potomac Academy would like to share “good news” for SPRING 2025! 2025-2026 WPHS PTSA Board Openings

This past Wednesday, the PTSA board in partnership with many families hosted an amazing Teacher/Staff Appreciation event - an example of one of the many things the PTSA board strives to do to lift our teachers/staff.  Additionally, the PTSA Board hosts 6 PTSA meetings throughout the year covering a variety of topics, raises funds to provide grants and celebrates our students’ success with the Student Recognition programs.

Open board positions include President, President Elect, VP of Communications which supports collecting announcements and creating draft for the weekly WPHS News You Choose newsletter and VP of Volunteers which helps create volunteer spots, engages with volunteers, manages the PTSA Givebacks/Memberhub activities online site to create new product buttons. We all know it takes a village to make WONDERFUL things happen, please consider donating your time.  Please send an e-mail to Virginia Lyon, PTSA Secretary at ptsa.westpotomac@gmail.com to submit your nomination and or ask additional questions regarding an open position, and she will connect with you with the current volunteer in that role.   Thank You!

Save the Date - May 22nd - Final PTSA Meeting.  Senior roundtable.  A group of 6-7 Class of 2025 (seniors) will engage in conversation, sharing their wisdom of the past four years and insights into how they navigated Senior year, the college process and /or post high school plans.
