Vaccine makers’ list of government allies is growing thin as another skeptic looks poised to land a leadership role.
Dr. Casey Means, a staunch supporter of HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., will be nominated for surgeon general, President Donald Trump announced Wednesday. Means graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine but dropped out of her surgical residency program after she saw how “broken and exploitative the healthcare system is.”
Means then geared her career toward wellness, becoming an author and influencer, and has aligned with RFK Jr.’s anti-vaccine viewpoints. In an October newsletter, she called on the White House to prevent pharma companies from influencing the FDA, end drug “price gouging” and reform policies that shield vaccine makers from liability.
“It is unconscionable that any pharmaceutical company should have blanket legal immunity from harm they are causing to Americans for medications that are mandated by the government in order for kids to do basic activities,” she wrote.
If approved, Means will step into the role as RFK Jr. ramps up his MAHA agenda promises, including a new program aimed at uncovering the “cause” of autism and other chronic diseases. Today, we’re looking at that initiative and its ties to his wavering stance on vaccines.
